J.C. Hall, Lisa and Tim, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Tate, Mr. and Mrs.

Basil HaU of West Plains, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hedrick, Shelly and Lisa, and Miss Vicky Snelson of Ava. Mr. and Mrs.

Lonnie Barnes of Kansas have been visiting the past week with Mrs. Ida Sager and other relatives in Ava. Visiting Mrs. Johnny Cox Sunday were Mr. and Mrs.

Billy Mathews and Mrs. Mae Cox. Mrs. Dolly Ellison spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs.

Marshall Richards. Sig Duren is still in the St. John's Hospital in a serious condition. He is reported to be no better. Mrs.

Ida Sager has been on the sick list. Those calling on her were Mrs. Bessie Hall, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Roberts, Carl Deeds, Pauline Jenkins, Mr.

and Mrs. Lonnie Barnes of Kansas, Mrs. Jack Cox, Virgil Horner, and Mrs. Virgil Cox. Skip Berry and Loren So-wards of Ava spent the weekend at Forsyth camping and fishing.

Those visiting and having dinner with Lois Richards Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Richards, Mrs. Dolly Ellison, Mr. and Mrs.

Jack Richards and Tony, Mrs. Helen Dobbins and granddaughter, Denise, Mrs. Pauline Jenkins, Kirk Baird and Karl Richards. 0 Gentryville Ella Mae LeRoy Mrs. Dovie Dooms and Mrs.

Reba Bishop spent this past week with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harley Coonts and Mrs. Delpha Hurst, while their husband's, Don and Alvie, were hunting in Colorado. Don killed an elk.

Mrs. Bertha Scherer visited Monday with Mrs. Debbie Hutchison in Mtn. Grove. Then eating supper there also on Monday night were Dean Scherer and Mr.

and Mrs. Joe LeRoy and Tracy. Mrs. Beulah Scherer is a patient at St. John's Hospital in Springfield where she is to have surgery this week.

Mrs. Veta Coonts, Mrs. Dovie Dooms and Mrs. Reba Bishop visited a while Tuesday night with Mr. and Mrs.

Dean Scherer. Agnes Williams and Bertha Scherer had dinner Friday with Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Hurst. Mrs.

Agnes Williams, Janet, Don and Karen, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Scherer, Carol, Christy and Cindy Hartzell and Tracy LeRoy had dinner Sunday with Mrs. Ann Collins and Mike. 1 am needing news items.

Jenkins Sunday School attendance was 38. Rev. Tom Johnson brought the morning message. Birthday offerings were given by Bobbie Hathcock and Kristy Hutchison. The annual Old Folks Day was well attended, and seemed to be enjoyed by all.

Thanks to all who came and those who helped in the program. Mrs. Thelma Jarman and Mrs. Larry Freeman and children, Lauren and Kris of Springfield, were dinner guests Saturday in the home of Mrs. Maude Switzer.

Walter Thomas of Sparta visited Wednesday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Turner. Mrs. Chestene Lietch visited Wednesday evening with the Turners.

Mrs. Jim Haden of Sparta and Mrs. Kenny Lietch and Brenda Jo visited Friday afternoon with Mrs. Clara Haden. Rev.

Dr. Harlan was out to see her Tuesday night, then Friday night she was sick all night and Saturday those visiting her were Mrs. Dortha Plumb, Mrs. Ethel Wheeler, Mrs. Lilia Stafford and Mrs.

Cecil Creech. Mrs, Dortha Plumb and Mrs. Wheeler, who are her sisters-in-law, stayed Saturday night and Sunday with her. Sunday afternoon, Mr. and Mrs.

Lloyd Streight came and returned Mrs. Wheeler and Mrs. Plumb home. Mr. and Mrs.

Junior Jenkins and son, Telly, visited Sunday night with Mr. and Mrs. D.L. Chance. Others calling to see the Chances last week were Mr.

and Mrs. Earl Morris and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Vaughn. Mr.

and Mrs. Audie Posey attended the White River Association at the youth camp in Taneyville. Mr. and Mrs. D.L.

Chance spent Labor Day at Brown Branch in the home of Mr. and Mrs, Bill Whitaker. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Creech entertained for Sunday dinner Mr.

Creechs cousin, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Blair of Crawford, who recently moved to Mansfield, and bought a home. Joining them in the afternoon were Mrs. Bonnie Phipps and Cecilia, Mr.

and Mrs. Roy Freeman and children of Ava, and Mrs. Debra Goin. enjoyed homemade candy and popcorn. this school year.

They are Catrina Welch and Jalana Fleetwood, above, and Leslie Wasola Mrs. Tilford Clayton Our Sunday School attendance was 43 with 51 for church. Devotion was given by Dana Mitchell. A pink and blue shower sponsored by the church is to be held in the basement Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 1:30 p.m.

for Lavona Twitty. The Missouri Association is to convene Thursday morning at Youth Camp Piland off Hwy. 95. Those from the Wasola WPFA Club attending the quarterly WPFA meeting the 6th in the Ava MFA Hall were Shirley Foster, Joyce Cunningham, Vi Woods, Susie Hodges, Grace Denney and Lilliam Clayton. Visitors were Richard Denney, Ella Mitchell, Theta Nokes, Honie and T.J., Travis and Ceresa Hodges.

Plans were made to have a booth in the Legion Hall during the Glade Top Trail that starts Oct. 14. The Wasola WPFA Club met Wednesday, Sept. 7, in the afternoon in the PCA office with Vi Woods as hostess and Sue Stamper as co-hostess. Other members present were Mary Sowers, Shirley Foster, Joyce Cunningham, Hazel and Pam Snelson, Susie Hodges and Lilliam Clayton.

Visitors were Linda Prock, Ella Mitchell, John and Jason Snelson, Travis and Ceresa Hodges, Linda and Ella joined the club. We also made plans for the Glade Top Trail. We are to meet next month with Grace Denney. Mr. and Mrs.

Buford Smith visited in the Carl Sievert home Labor Day. I visited a while Wednesday night before Bible study with Mr. and Mrs. Lee Leschinsky. He is up and around some.

Theyve had several visitors. The Saturday night singing at Oak Grove was enjoyed by those attending. Refreshments were served in the basement after the singing. The Coy family is expected there the 4th Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. Visitors Wednesday in the Junior Snelson home were Randy Snethern and Kristi.
